Ancient City Wall of Magong

Also known as Penghu City Wall or KongShi City Wall, the City Wall was built as the last wall of defense in the Ching Dynasty. The Wall is 789 Jang, 2 Chi, and 5 Chun in length, and 1 Jang and 8 Chi in height with 570 parapets and 6 gates, including east, south, west, north, minor south, and minor west gates (ShunCheng Gate).  The Wall is mostly torn down with the ShunCheng Gate, major West Gate, and part of the wall west of north gate, remaining.  ShunCheng Gate is located near the crossing between Xinfu Rd. and Zhongshan Rd., and is listed as a national second-grade heritage.  Old banyan trees cluster the north side of the Wall, presenting a beautiful and elegant image.
