Chihwei Island contains basalt of a typical columnar structure, so it is like a tiny volcanic orifice (with radial and ring structure). There are also substantial marine creatures in and around the islet. Chihwei Islandis an isolated islet during the rising tide, and because of its isolation, it is valuable for research and education.
